No Easter Eggs, just the greatest album ever released remastered in 8 bit sound
When it comes to classic rock albums, very few things come close to Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon. Created in two sessions in 1972 and 1973, DSotM was Pink Floyd's 6th album. It was one of the concept albums that basically defines Pink Floyd as a group and as a rock legend and icon. The other album filling that role would be The Wall.
Wikipedia says this: "The Dark Side of the Moon was an immediate success, topping the Billboard 200 for one week. It subsequently remained in the charts for 741 weeks from 1973 to 1988, longer than any other album in history. With an estimated 45 million copies sold, it is Pink Floyd's most commercially successful album and one of the best-selling albums worldwide. It has twice been remastered and re-released, and has been covered by several other acts. It spawned two singles, "Money" and "Us and Them". In addition to its commercial success, The Dark Side of the Moon is one of Pink Floyd's most popular albums among fans and critics, and is frequently ranked as one of the greatest rock albums of all time."
Canadian game programmer Brad Smith has now remastered the classic album in 8 bit Nintendo Style. Released as Moon8, Brad's album is the entire Dark Side of the Moon album, from Speak to Me all the way to Brain Damage/Eclipse, done in 8 bit computerized music.
Enjoy some of it here and visit Brad's website or YouTube channel to experience the whole album. (There's no video, music only, so I've flattened them here for space)

Rusted Root Rocks Raleigh

I still remember the first time I heard Rusted Root. It was the song Virtual Reality, which was part of the soundtrack for the movie "Twister". I remember hearing the song and the lyrics about how we're all living in a land of virtual reality and thinking, "Man, this rocks!". It wasn't until some years later, however, that I really learned about Rusted Root. read more »
Send me on my way...
Well, Thursday came and went, and it was a hella long day! Dana got back from Wilmington at about 12:30 and met me at work. We put her stuff into the car, and off to Myrtle Beach we went!
The drive down was pleasant. The day was warm, clouds kept the heat down and we were able to get to Myrtle by about 4 PM. We spent a bit walking around Barefoot Landing going in and out of stores.. well, Ok, SHE went in and out of stores while I sat outside, not wanting to really venture into shoe stores and places that smell all funny and stuff.
After a bit we headed out and had dinner at Bennet's Calabash Seafood which had a great buffet! There was quite a bit of fish, clams, crab cakes and prime rib there, and tons of crab legs. I had a bit of everything and it was quite tasty! The fried flounder was awesome, as were the fried clam strips... mmm... Thinking about that is making me hungry. I think I am gonna go get some fish for dinner. read more »
w00t! Rusted Root tickets!
Woo HOOOO!!! I got tickets to see Rusted Root at the House of Blues in MB!! SWEET!
Sorry, I had to jump a little about that. I missed them last year when they came this way because I didn't find out about it until the last minute.
This time I found out in time. I couldn't get tickets for the shows at the Cat's Cradle or Ziggy's, but in any case, D is out of town that week. She's supposed to come back on Thursday, though, and thats the night of the show.
So so far, she is going to meet me at work, and we are driving to MB that afternoon, do some shopping, see the show, then drive straight back so I can get a couple hours sleep before heading back to work on Friday. read more »
