Website NewsYay... Numbah One on Google! So I've been up for a VERY long time now. I tried to go to sleep last night, but didn't really drift off until after 1am. Then, at about 3:30am, Patches woke me up because she REALLY had to go out to fertilize my yard. I've been up ever since, running on 2 and a half hours of sleep, some caffinated tea, and a handfull of caffine pills. So what do I do when I get to work, in this horrible state of mind? I Google myself. I haven't done that in a while, so I thought, why not. Much to my surprise, I am now the number 1 result when you search for "Jeff Lane" on Google. Holy Crap! I am finally number one at SOMETHING! Ok... I know, big freakin' deal, but in my delirious sleep deprived state, I am very easily excitable, especially once the caffine pills start making me twitchy ;-) And to prove my newfound status as the number one Jeff Lane on the interwebs, I present to you a screen shot: Let us to the Renaissance Faire!
Just some random stuff...Just a few random stuffs... I am trying out some modules for drupal so some things may change from day to day until I decide what goodies I like and dont like. Also, try the google search button. Far superior to the older search tool that didn't work right. Google is my master now... More photographic yummiesHere's another update. There are new pics/albums up in the photo gallery. First Snow of 2007 Contains a few of the pictures I took during our first, and probably only snow of 2007 here in central NC. Macro Experiments contains a few of the images I took using a macro trick I read about online. They were done by taking an old 50mm lens, setting it to its biggest aperature and setting focus to infinity, then holding it backwards against the 18-55mm lens on my Rebel XTi. The 18-55 was set at 55mm to get the largest field of view. read more » More pictures uploadedJust added the following new albums to the photo gallery: Christmas 2006: Photos from the various Christmases that we went to this year. Blue Ridge Parkway: Photos from the trip home after Christmas. I took the long way down the Blue Ridge Parkway from just north of Roanoke to Stuart, VA. And finally, Kelly and Tim's Wedding which happened on 12/13/2006 at Grandin Court Baptist Church in Roanoke. Enjoy! Another quick updateJust a quick update. I added photos from the 11/11 Kent State game at Lane Stadium. Also, I added a Cars album to the Art section and a Dogs album to that same section. In Holidays there are pictures from the Pittsboro Christmas Parade as well. Enjoy! New Photos added to the GalleryJust a small website update. I picked up a new Digital SLR this weekend in the Black Friday madness (see blog post about Post-Thanksgiving Hell) and have put up a few images from my first forte into Digital SLR photography. It feels good to have a real camera in my hands again as opposed to a small Point and Shoot. Check them out here: http://www.jefflane.org/photo/thumbnails.php?album=18 A new day begins...I think I have most of the kinks worked out now... so the next step is to start moving my old blog posts into this new format. Over the next few days, I will be revisiting my old stuff then I will start posting new stuff after that. The next big thing is to figure out how to get pictures into the blog... A new beginningThis is a new look for JeffLane.org. I am tired of not being able to maintain this site adequately, so I am using Drupal to handle content management. This is new to me, so it should take a little while to get the hang of it. In the long run, this should be a good way to handle what I want to do with this site. Here are some things that are coming in the future: read more »
