The Miata Chronicles

Jeff drives like a wild man
I don't know why it is, but I have always disliked small cars. I hated my wife's Honda Civic. I tolerate her Nissan Sentra SE-R, mostly because it's an SE-R and has some symbalance of performance.

My first car was a 1972 Ford LTD. That was followed by a 1981 Chevy Monte Carlo, and that by the smallest car I had owned until recently: a 1992 Saturn SL1. I have owned a Jeep Cherokee 4DR, a '79 Mercury Cougar XR-7, a '67 Olds Toronado, F-150, '95 Chevy Caprice 9C1. I even owned a couple of Audis as well, the most recent a 1989 90 Quattro and the previous an '87 5000CS Turbo Quattro wagon (my favorite).

All in all, big cars. Large cars. Even the small ones were Mid-Sized. So what the hell was I thinking when I bought a 91 Miata last week? I still don't know. I must have been crazy. Even my wife's Sentra dwarfs the Miata with its 2200 pound curb weight and its small 1.6 litre motor. But what I do know is that I have had more fun driving this last week than I have had in ages.
