Woo HOOOO!!! I got tickets to see Rusted Root at the House of Blues in MB!! SWEET!
Sorry, I had to jump a little about that. I missed them last year when they came this way because I didn't find out about it until the last minute.
This time I found out in time. I couldn't get tickets for the shows at the Cat's Cradle or Ziggy's, but in any case, D is out of town that week. She's supposed to come back on Thursday, though, and thats the night of the show.
So so far, she is going to meet me at work, and we are driving to MB that afternoon, do some shopping, see the show, then drive straight back so I can get a couple hours sleep before heading back to work on Friday.
I am going to be a total wreck on that Friday and probably worthless thanks to fatigue, but it's Rusted Root!
This will be my third show, her first. I got to see them originally years ago at the Boat House in Norfolk, VA thanks to my friend and adopted little sister Reba. Hrmm, thats also when I hooked up with Reba's roommate Amber. My second Amber.
The second show was at, I believe, the Landmark Theater in Richmond, VA. In any case, It was at an older theater in Richmond near VCU. I got tickets for that one free from WROV in Roanoke, VA for being the XX caller. That is the ONLY time I have ever really won something in a contest, and I must say it was a great thing to win. So I took my friend Lawrence to see RR in Richmond as thanks for him taking me to see my first Grateful Dead show on their final Summer Tour in '95.
Now I will get a third RR show in MB.
I can't wait!
